I guess what happened at the National Championship game is a reflection of my own lesson, which is to love in the moment.  From my perspective, the dual nature of competitive sports, with the winner victorious and the loser seen as a failure, is that you don’t appreciate the game for what it is.

The Buckeyes went to the National Championship two years in a row.  That is an honor and privilege, and I think the team should be recognized for the athleticism, sportsmanship and teamwork to get to that spot.  They are still number 2 in the country.

Maybe I’m missing the point of college sports altogether, since I wasn’t raised with it.  But to me, loving and being supportive of your team – win or lose – is what it means to be a Born Buckeye.
